April 12, 2026 | John Moore | IHRA

Three offshore races ran on Saturday, April 11 at the 2nd Annual New Orleans Powerboat Grand Prix on Lake Pontchartrain, Metairie, Louisiana. Tyler Miller won Pro Class 1 Race 1 for Monster Energy / M CON; Joey Olivieri took Class 200 in a comeback from eighth place; and Shocker Offshore won Class 400. Racing continues on Sunday, April 12, including Pro Class 1 Race 2, Super Cat, Factory Stock, and Super Stock.

Pro Class 1 Race 1

Tyler Miller led Monster Energy / M CON from the start and held the front for 13 of 14 laps, completing the race in 37 minutes 14.659 seconds. Bill Pyburn ran a consistent second across the second half of the race, crossing the flag 10.288 seconds behind. The gap did not reflect how closely the two boats were matched: Pyburn’s fastest lap of 2:26.977 edged Miller’s 2:26.989 by just 0.012 seconds, but Miller’s consistency over the full distance was decisive.

William Mauff brought WHM Motorsports (#05) home third, 2 minutes 33.276 seconds off the winner. XINSURANCE (#11), not present at the St Pete season opener, finished fourth across the full 14 laps. Kevin Birrell in Outta Pocket Racing (#10) was classified fifth after completing 13 laps. Discrete Offshore Racing (#07) retired after eight laps; MTI / GC Racing (#32, Milton Calafell) after seven.
