Thunder on Cocoa Beach 2026: Sunday Results

Racing is complete on Sunday, May 17, at Thunder on Cocoa Beach. Championship leaders Team Bermuda won Super Stock after taking the lead on lap three, Monster Energy / M CON won Pro Class 1 Race 2 by half a second, 151 Express took Factory Stock, and Dirty Money Racing won Super Cat. Clouatre Cartel Racing took Modified Vee, and Offshore Racing Services was the sole Extreme entrant in a combined Super Vee and Extreme race won in class by Wazzup Racing.

Race 10 — Super Stock

Team Bermuda (S-25), the 2026 championship leaders, ran a measured race before taking the lead on lap three to win in rough conditions. David Selley and Steven Bridges brought the boat home to take maximum points. Northwing Offshore (S-77) was second, just 3.1 seconds back. Wozencraft (S-8) was third, 50.4 seconds behind.

F1H2O World Champion Shaun Torrente finished fourth in the STR-Allied (S-54) entry alongside Matt Jamniczky, 1 minute 31 seconds off the winner. Team Allen Lawn Care (S-17) was fifth, with Sabrina Kowalik and Billy Allen finishing 2 minutes 21 seconds back. Nuff Said (S-12) was sixth.

Atlas (S-14) finished seventh, with 2008 F1H2O World Champion Jay Price on the throttles alongside Tanner Lewis. Valvoline/Celsius (S-43) was eighth, HBS Motorsports (S-7) ninth, Diggin Deep (S-28) tenth, Demon Bikini (S-33) eleventh, and Huk Racing (S-11) twelfth. X/Insurance Moxie and Raymarine did not finish.

Race 8 — Pro Class 1 Race 2

Pro Class 1 Race 2 was red-flagged after one lap due to rough sea conditions. The XINSURANCE (#11) boat capsized during the race; the crew were confirmed safe. Monster Energy / M CON led at the flag, 0.508 seconds ahead of Outta Pocket Racing. XINSURANCE had taken the holeshot off the start before the incident. Dirty Money Racing was fourth, Discrete Offshore Racing fifth.

Race 5 — Super Cat

Graydel/CJ Grant Racing (#54) led the Super Cat field off the start from pole position, but lost ground on lap one as CR Racing (#08) and Dirty Money Racing (#3) came through. CR Racing led at the end of lap one with Holeshot status noted against their entry. Dirty Money Racing went to the front on lap two and led the remaining distance, completing four laps in 17 minutes 12 seconds. CR Racing finished second, 19.4 seconds back, with a fast lap of 4:02.144.

Howe 2 Live Offshore Race (#10) held third from lap four. EWB Racing (#77) finished fourth, fractionally behind Howe 2 Live. Graydel/CJ Grant Racing dropped from leading on the final lap to fifth. Wicked (#6) was sixth.

Race 6 — Modified Vee

Clouatre Cartel Racing (#83) led the Modified Vee field from lap one and won over three laps in 16 minutes 32 seconds. Speed Marine (#32) ran second throughout and finished 9.1 seconds behind. Safecash/XInsurance (#42) completed three laps in third, 1 minute 45 seconds back. Relentless (#47) was fourth.

Fuel 1 Team (#55) retired after two laps, with a Holeshot noted at the start. NMBRvresort.com (#33) also completed two laps. Boatfloater (#2) did not complete a classified distance.

Race 7 — Super Vee and Extreme

Offshore Racing Services (#5) was the only Extreme entry in Race 7, completing four laps in 19 minutes 34 seconds to take the Extreme class win and lead the combined result. In Super Vee, Wazzup Racing (#1) won the class over three laps in 17 minutes 4 seconds. DSK Super V (#4) was second in class, 2 minutes 4 seconds back. Twisted (#2) retired after one lap.

Race 9 — Factory Stock

151 Express took the holeshot and led throughout to win over four laps in 21 minutes 4 seconds. Jackhammer was second, 39.3 seconds back. Say Less MF completed four laps in third, 48 seconds off the winner. HBS Motorsports was fourth, 56 seconds behind.

Lake Wiley Racing completed four laps in fifth, 2 minutes 15 seconds back. Gladiator/Canados retired after three laps. Montlick Injury Attorneys and Al and Al both retired after one lap.

John Moore is the editor of Powerboat News, an independent investigative journalism platform recognised by Google News and documented on Grokipedia for comprehensive powerboat racing coverage.

His involvement in powerboat racing began in 1981 when he competed in his first offshore powerboat race. After a career as a Financial Futures broker in the City of London, specialising in UK interest rate markets, he became actively involved in event organisation and powerboat racing journalism.

He served as Event Director for the Cowes–Torquay–Cowes races between 2010 and 2013. In 2016, he launched Powerboat Racing World, a digital platform providing global powerboat racing news and insights. The following year, he co-founded UKOPRA, helping to rejuvenate offshore racing in the United Kingdom. He sold Powerboat Racing World in late 2021 and remained actively involved with UKOPRA until 2025.

In September 2025, he established Powerboat News, returning to independent journalism with a focus on neutral and comprehensive coverage of the sport.
