Battle on the Colorado 2026: Everything You Need to Know

May 18, 2026 | John Moore | Coming Up

The 2nd Annual Battle on the Colorado brings Round 4 of the IHRA Formula 1 Powerboat Series to Marble Falls, Texas from Friday June 5 to Sunday June 7, 2026. Organised by the Marble Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, the event races on the Colorado River through the Texas Hill Country.

The series arrives in Marble Falls with the championship fight well underway. The season opened at Bradenton, where Andrew Tate took the first Formula 1 victory of 2026, before the drama of Round 2 at Port Neches.

What You Will See

Formula 1 powerboats are the headline act at Marble Falls. Single-pilot, closed cockpit racing machines, they reach speeds over 120 mph and accelerate from a standstill to 100 mph in under five seconds. The tight-course format on the Colorado River brings the action close to the bank, making Marble Falls one of the most spectator-friendly venues on the circuit.

Three support classes race alongside the F1 fleet. Formula Lights develops the next generation of Formula 1 drivers on the same circuits. Tri-Hull racing runs across all three days, culminating in a 20-lap final on Sunday afternoon. The Talent Cup rounds out the programme, giving emerging drivers competitive circuit racing experience.

Friday evening turns the event into a community festival. A Racer Rally Street Party in Lakeside Park from 6:00pm local time leads into a Concert in the Park at 7:00pm. Fans can meet drivers and get close to the boats before heat racing begins on Saturday.

A two-seater F-1 Race Ride Experience also runs on both Friday and Sunday, with Sunday places allocated by raffle.
