May 7, 2026 | John Moore | Coming Up

Jedovnice hosts the opening round of the Hydro GP World Championship on 15–17 May 2026. The three championship classes – F-125, F-250 and F-500 – are joined by the FR1000 European Championship and international races for OSY-400 and P-750. Six categories on one lake over one weekend. Entry for spectators is free.

Where: Lake Olšovec, Jedovnice, Czech Republic
When: Saturday 16 – Sunday 17 May 2026
Entry: Free

What you will see

The F-125, F-250 and F-500 classes are single-seat methanol-powered hydroplanes. The number in the class name is the maximum engine displacement in cubic centimetres – F-500 is the fastest of the three, while F-125 and F-250 are more compact and produce close-quarters racing on a tight buoy-marked circuit. Boats start with engines off from a floating jetty; on the signal, drivers fire up and go flat out. FR1000 is an outboard class contesting the UIM European Championship, with OSY-400 and P-750 completing a full day’s programme on the water.

Race schedule

Free practice and time trials run through Saturday morning and early afternoon. The first heats begin at 15:50 on Saturday. Sunday brings heats two and three for all classes, with prize giving at 18:00.
