Tom Brady hosted a Leaders’ Summit at The Setai, Miami Beach on Thursday evening, bringing together global figures from sport, technology, and business on the eve of this weekend’s championship-deciding Miami GP.
The seven-times Super Bowl champion welcomed E1 Chairman Alejandro Agag, E1 Founder and CEO Rodi Basso, and partner executives from Bombay Sapphire, Cambridge Mobile Telematics, WaterAid, and Seabird Technologies to Miami Beach for two panel discussions examining the intersection of elite competition, innovation, and commercial partnerships.
Team Brady arrive at their owner’s hometown race holding a slender three-point championship advantage over Team Rafa, with racing at Miami Seaplane Base on Friday and Saturday set to determine the 2025 Champions of the Water.
Major Partnership Announcements
Cambridge Mobile Telematics Co-Founder and CEO William V. Powers announced ahead of the panels that his company will extend its partnership with Team Brady, reinforcing CMT’s commitment to advancing data-driven mobility performance and sustainability with the E1 team.
It’s our mission to make the world’s drivers safer using AI and technology to do that, and hopefully bring it to boats and cars all over the world. Team Brady is just such a great fit, we’re thrilled to be extending our partnership with the team, this is just the beginning.
During the second panel discussion, 4ocean Foundation CEO and Founder Alex Schulze announced his organisation will renew their partnership with Team Brady for 2026 and double their commitment to removing ocean plastic, increasing from 100 kilograms to 200 kilograms of plastic removed for every championship point Team Brady scores.
I am so excited for what this sport does for sustainability, we’re making sustainability cool. I can’t tell you how important the E1 series and legends like Tom Brady involved is, to drive this message forward. If we want to reduce the amount of plastic entering the ocean every year, we’ve got to make it cool. I’m very excited about the partnership, we want to show people the positive impact we can have.
The announcements add to Team Brady’s portfolio of high-profile partnerships as the defending champions seek to retain their title on home waters this weekend.
Brady’s Miami Homecoming
Speaking at the summit, Brady emphasised the significance of competing in Miami, where he established himself as an NFL icon with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and now resides.
To have E1 in my own back yard is special, I’m very excited to showcase this amazing city and bring this sport to my home town. I’ve got a great team here with me, my Team Brady teammates and I couldn’t be more proud of the way they’ve performed under pressure and the way they continue to achieve greatness in this series. The fact that we’re sitting on a three point lead going into the last race of the season is really exciting for all of us.
The Miami GP marks E1’s first race in the United States, with Brady one of five American team owners in the championship alongside Will Smith, LeBron James, Marc Anthony, and Steve Aoki.
Bombay Sapphire’s First Sports Partnership
Tony Latham, President, North America, Bacardi Group, outlined why Bombay Sapphire selected E1 and Team Brady for the premium spirits brand’s inaugural sports partnership.
This is the first sports partnership that Bombay Sapphire has entered into, and there were three things that got us excited about this. First of all, the pioneering spirit is at the core of the Bombay Sapphire and Bacardi family, secondly, sustainability is at the heart of what we believe in and that was a catalyst for partnering with E1 and Team Brady. And finally, we’re about phenomenal experiences, and this event, it doesn’t get any better than this. We are so happy to be here in Miami and bring it all home.
A full-scale E1 RaceBird is currently on display at Miami International Airport, showcasing the partnership between the championship and Bombay Sapphire.
Panel Discussions
Hosted by Louis Aguirre, presenter and reporter for WPLG, the evening featured two panel discussions examining different aspects of E1’s mission.
The opening session saw Brady, Agag, Latham, Powers, and Sophi Horne, Founder of Seabird Technologies, discuss the origins of E1, the inspiration behind Team Brady, and the commercial impact of partnering with the championship and team.
The second panel turned focus to Team Brady’s Race for Change platform, with Brady joined by Basso, Schulze, Kelly Parsons, CEO of WaterAid America, and Team Brady pilot Emma Kimiläinen to examine how E1’s global stage drives progress both on and off the water.
Parsons outlined WaterAid’s mission and the significance of Team Brady’s support.
The world needs to know how important it is for people to have access to safe, clean drinking water. Right now, two billion people in the world, don’t have that. We know the power of E1, sports and competition to bring authenticity and amplification to our mission and when Team Brady says it and showcases it, that makes a huge difference. I’m happy Team Brady is getting it done on the water, we want to get water done too.
Championship Finale
Team Brady’s Welsh pilot Sam Coleman and Finnish co-pilot Emma Kimiläinen face their championship defence on Friday and Saturday at Miami Seaplane Base, where a three-point advantage over Team Rafa means the title race remains wide open.
Set against the elegant backdrop of The Setai, Miami Beach, Thursday evening’s summit featured live DJ sets, acrobatic performances, and a display of Brady memorabilia curated by Fanatics. A live art installation showed 100 kilograms of ocean plastic, representing the amount 4ocean Foundation removes for every point Team Brady scores in the UIM World Championship.
Three live food stations showcased The Setai’s award-winning restaurants, complemented by a Bombay Sapphire cocktail bar serving the Bombay Sapphire Sparkling Lemon, E1’s signature drink.
Racing begins on Friday at Miami Seaplane Base on Biscayne Bay, with the 2025 UIM E1 World Championship title decided on Saturday.
