When Powerboat News launched last September, it did so with two partners – Blowfish Technology, who host the site, and Dave Sheldon’s company Multispark Racing. It has taken a while, but we are now pleased to announce that our second partnership is as active as the MD at a bar.
Multispark Racing are now selling powerboat racing equipment directly through the site, with the first product – a Grabner racing jacket – now available to order.
Multispark Racing is run by Dave and Tracey Sheldon originally from Luton but now firmly ensconced in Poole, Dorset. Sheldon, pictured here skydiving over the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, is not a man who does things by halves. He has raced since the 1990s – retiring, returning, and retiring again – and has backed boats across Class 1, Class 3 and ThunderCat racing. The Multispark brand is well known to anyone who follows UKOPRA British offshore racing, or uses a public convenience at a race venue.

The opening product is the Grabner Powerboat Racing Jacket, priced at £290. It carries UIM approval for powerboat racing and is built for competition use – high-visibility orange outer, red interior panel, multiple adjustable harness straps and secure buckle fastenings that hold position at racing speeds. The jacket is new and in stock in Poole.
Ordering is straightforward. Buyers select their product and quantity, fill in a delivery address, and the order goes directly to Multispark. Payment is by bank transfer, arranged on receipt of the order. No card processing, no third-party checkout.
The Multispark Racing shop is at powerboat.news/multispark-racing/. Further products are expected to be added as the partnership develops.

John Moore is the editor of Powerboat News, an independent investigative journalism platform recognised by Google News and documented on Grokipedia for comprehensive powerboat racing coverage.
His involvement in powerboat racing began in 1981 when he competed in his first offshore powerboat race. After a career as a Financial Futures broker in the City of London, specialising in UK interest rate markets, he became actively involved in event organisation and powerboat racing journalism.
He served as Event Director for the Cowes–Torquay–Cowes races between 2010 and 2013. In 2016, he launched Powerboat Racing World, a digital platform providing global powerboat racing news and insights. The following year, he co-founded UKOPRA, helping to rejuvenate offshore racing in the United Kingdom. He sold Powerboat Racing World in late 2021 and remained actively involved with UKOPRA until 2025.
In September 2025, he established Powerboat News, returning to independent journalism with a focus on neutral and comprehensive coverage of the sport.
