Sunseeker has appointed Daren Morris as Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Dean Lawler, according to a company announcement.
Morris is a former managing director at UBS and Morgan Stanley, and has been CFO at Volex plc and Big Technologies plc. Sunseeker says he brings more than three decades of experience across investment banking, mergers and acquisitions and international financial leadership.
The appointment comes after Cross Ocean Partners and Cheyne Capital were confirmed as Sunseeker’s owners and Scott Millar was named CEO.
Morris’s Big Technologies Role
Sunseeker’s announcement describes his time at Big Technologies as a CFO position. The company’s own stock exchange announcements show more. In March 2025 Morris became interim chief executive after Big Technologies suspended its CEO. On May 8, 2025 the company stood him down as director and interim CEO with immediate effect, and said he would leave the group after a period of garden leave.
Big Technologies’ chairman thanked Morris for his work as CFO and interim CEO, and said he had helped to stabilise the business at a difficult time.
What Sunseeker Said
Scott Millar, Chief Executive Officer, Sunseeker
“The period of uncertainty is behind us.”
Millar said Sunseeker now has committed ownership, significant investment and a clear long-term direction, and that strong financial leadership will be fundamental to protecting the financial strength of the business and enabling it to invest. He thanked Lawler for his years of dedication to Sunseeker.
Daren Morris, Chief Financial Officer, Sunseeker
“Sunseeker is an iconic global brand with a strong heritage.”
Morris said he looks forward to working with colleagues across the organisation to build on the company’s strengths and shape its next chapter.
Sunseeker says Lawler leaves having supported the company through a period of change and helped to strengthen its financial foundations and strategic direction. The announcement does not say why he is leaving, or give a leaving date for Lawler or a start date for Morris.
