Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) has signed a partnership with Dubai creative company Watch My i (WMi) to make a five-episode docuseries about Victory Team, the club’s professional powerboat racing team.
The series, titled The Blue Dynasty – Made in Dubai, is in development. The partners announced it in Dubai on Tuesday, October 13. It will cover the team from its beginnings through its most successful years, including the setbacks, rivalries and results that built its record. The announcement gives 2027-2028 as the release window.
WMi has released a teaser outlining its plans for the series.
A Reality Series to Follow
The docuseries is the first project under a longer-term agreement. DIMC and WMi also plan an ongoing reality series following Dubai’s marine sport athletes and teams through their racing seasons. Their stated aims are to raise the profile of those athletes in the UAE and abroad, build a home fan base, bring bigger crowds to marine sport events in Dubai, and create sponsorship and brand partnership revenue around the racers.
Mohammed Abdulla Harib Al Falahi, Chief Executive Officer of DIMC, said:
“Victory Team has raced for Dubai at world level since the early 1990s, and its story belongs to the Emirati racers, engineers and staff whose combined efforts built its achievements and its distinguished record. This series is a chance to record that story with care and to show a new generation what it takes to win on the world stage. We look forward to working with Watch My i to bring this story to audiences in the UAE and around the world.”
Sened Gomera, Head of Growth at WMi, said the series would be built around legacy, culture and community:
“We want to tell the story of Victory Team’s achievements and the people behind them, while capturing the culture and energy of Dubai in the 1980s and ’90s, a chapter of the city’s identity that deserves to be more widely shared.”
Three World Titles in 2025
DIMC was founded in 1988 and organises both traditional and modern watersports in Dubai, from dhow sailing and traditional rowing to powerboat racing and aquabike. Victory Team represents the emirate in UIM-sanctioned championships.
The team goes into the documentary project as the holder of three world titles. In December 2025 it won its first UIM F1H2O Teams’ World Championship in Sharjah, Shaun Torrente won the 2025 UIM F1H2O World Championship, and Salem Al Adidi and Eisa Al Ali won the 2025 UIM XCAT World Championship for the team in Dubai. The team is defending both F1H2O titles this year with Torrente, who will retire at the end of the 2026 season, and Alec Weckström.
