Pelle Larsson of Sweden has been elected president of COMINSPORT, the UIM’s International Sporting Commission, at the 99th UIM General Assembly in Sintra, Portugal, on Sunday 25 October.

The presidency was open after Fred Hauenstein chose not to stand again. The UIM’s candidate lists named two candidates for the post, Larsson and Vahur Joala of the Estonian Powerboating Union. The term runs from 2026 to 2030.

COMINSPORT is responsible for the UIM’s international sporting rules, the international racing calendar and record homologation.

The Assembly, held at the Pestana Beloura Golf Resort, is also electing the presidents of COMINTECH, COMINOFF, COMINSAFE and the Pleasure Navigation Commission, the members of all five commissions and up to five UIM Administrators. PBN’s guide to the candidates sets out who is standing for each post.

Pelle Larsson

Larsson chairs the UIM Formulae Committee, which is responsible for F2 and F4, having returned to the post he left in 2022. He was race director of the UIM F2 World Championship until standing down after the final round of the 2022 season, and served as UIM Sports Commissioner at the 2026 F2 rounds in Portugal.

In April 2026 he was elected to the board of Svemo, Sweden’s national motorsport federation.

PBN will publish the results of the other elections when the UIM releases them.
