
Neil Perkins is a seasoned sports journalist and PR professional with more than three decades of experience across 114 countries. He contributes to Powerboat News, bringing an international perspective shaped by a career spanning some of the world’s biggest sporting events.
Educated at Adams’ Grammar School, Newport, he developed a lifelong passion for sport. He began his career as a trainee accountant before moving into sports journalism in 1986 with Motoring News, covering events worldwide.
In 1990, he founded NDP Publicity Services in Shropshire, specialising in sports public relations. Over the following decades he has worked for governments, sporting federations, royalty, celebrities, and major events including the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and Winter Olympics.

Neil Perkins began his working life as a trainee accountant before sport pulled him in a different direction. In 1986 he joined Motoring News as a sports journalist, covering events across the globe and building the international network that would define his career.
Four years later he established NDP Publicity Services in Shropshire, a PR agency focused on sport. The client list has ranged from governments and sporting federations to royalty and celebrities. His event portfolio includes the Commonwealth Games, the Asian Games, and the Winter Olympics.
Outside work, he follows Ipswich Town FC, fishes in Spain and Shropshire, and travels regularly to Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Catalunya, and Mexico.
