Two spectacular blow-overs at Stewartby Lake on Saturday produced dramatic photographs but, crucially, no injuries as both drivers walked away unscathed from their high-speed incidents.
Mantripp’s Inverted Flight
Racer and commentator Jason Mantripp provided the first eye-catching moment when his hydro launched into a complete barrel-roll, captured in a sensational photograph by Fred Emeny. The image shows Mantripp’s craft fully inverted mid-air with the driver remaining in the cockpit throughout the incident.
Mantripp emerged from the blow-over without injury.
Sallis Thrown Clear
Alfie Sallis became the second driver to suffer a blow-over at the Bedfordshire venue. Photographer Lee Prewer captured the dramatic moment as Sallis was ejected from the cockpit whilst his boat pitched skyward.
Despite being thrown clear of his craft, Sallis walked away from the incident unharmed.
