Nineteen-year-old Jamie Atlee is preparing for the challenge of his young career as he lines up at the 2025 UIM GT30 European Championship in Viverone, northern Italy.
The event promises to be a showcase of Europe’s finest powerboat racing talent, with seventeen drivers from six nations battling it out for continental glory.
For Atlee, who impressed earlier this year with a sixth-place finish at the World Championships, it is another opportunity to prove himself on the international stage. With ambition burning bright, he heads to Italy determined to show his skill, composure and competitive edge against the very best in the class.
The Challenge Ahead
Atlee has been putting in countless hours of training and preparation to ensure he is ready for the demands of championship racing. His hard work reflects both his passion for the sport and his commitment to building a professional career in powerboat racing.
The weekend will begin with a timed qualification session, where drivers will fight for pole position. From there, the competition will unfold across four high-octane heats, each demanding absolute precision as competitors navigate the twists and turns of Lake Viverone.
The Setting
Lake Viverone provides a spectacular backdrop for the championship. Nestled in the foothills of north-west Italy, it is known for its beauty but also for the challenges it presents.
The calm appearance of the lake can be deceptive—shifting winds can quickly transform conditions, pushing drivers to adapt on the fly and testing their control to the limit.
From the Driver
Looking ahead to the competition, Atlee said:
“The competition is going to be fierce—seventeen of Europe’s top powerboat racers will be there to fight for the European Championship. Viverone is known for being a difficult course.
Despite the serene appearance of the lake, the wind can create some taxing conditions.
Recent test sessions have gone well, and along with the team I’m confident we can get some good results and hopefully bring home some silverware.
I must thank my team and sponsors for enabling me to compete and giving me this fantastic opportunity.”
