Fort Lauderdale boat dealer FB Marine Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on August 5, 2026, the latest marine retailer to seek court protection in a year that has already claimed West Marine and Kadey-Krogen Yachts.

The filing was made by Fastboats.com Sales Company, LLC, which trades as FB Marine Group, in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida. The case is proceeding under Subchapter V, a streamlined track for small business debtors, before Judge Scott M. Grossman. Carol Lynn Fox is serving as trustee.

A Steady Decline

The petition shows gross revenue falling from $18.4 million in 2024 to $15 million in 2025, and reaching $10.5 million in 2026 through the filing date. FB Marine Group did not give a specific reason for the filing in its petition. The company lists assets of just over $1.7 million against liabilities of about $2.6 million.

FB Marine Group operates from three South Florida locations, in Fort Lauderdale, Miami Beach and West Palm Beach, and sells new and pre-owned yachts, cruisers, center consoles and runabouts under the Contender and IKon brands. It is also a certified dealer for Mercury Marine, Yamaha and Suzuki outboards, and has previously supplied boats for government contracting work and television and film productions.

Disputed Claims

The petition’s largest unsecured creditors are all individual disputed claims rather than trade debt. Brock Vernon is owed $400,000 in a disputed lawsuit claim, Rudy Trevisan $262,000 in a disputed liability claim, and Yaddiel Marin $250,000 in a disputed lawsuit claim. Jules Tremblay holds a final judgment of $115,000, and Jason Tolliver a disputed judgment of over $77,000.

Marin has already appeared in the case docket, filing a limited objection to the debtor’s motion to use cash collateral. The case’s public docket shows the schedules were subsequently amended on August 12, a week after the original petition, though the amended figures were not available at the time of writing.

The same docket entry shows an emergency motion for payment of insider compensation, filed the same day as the amended schedules. Creditors have until October 14, 2026 to file proofs of claim.

Part of a Wider Pattern

FB Marine Group’s filing follows a difficult stretch for US marine retail. West Marine filed for Chapter 11 in May 2026, and Kadey-Krogen Yachts followed with a Chapter 7 filing in July, both citing a pullback in discretionary boat spending. FB Marine Group is a smaller business than either, but the underlying pressure looks the same.
