Race World Offshore has secured XINSURANCE as the title partner of its UIM world championship programme for 2026, naming the specialty insurance company as lead partner of the newly designated XINSURANCE UIM World Championship Series and as presenting sponsor of the Key West Offshore World Championships.

The agreement covers the first season of RWO’s multi-year licensing deal with the Union Internationale Motonautique. For the first time, three classes will race for designated UIM world titles across the North American calendar: UIM Offshore Class I, UIM Offshore Class II, and APBA Super Cat.

The Series

The four-event XINSURANCE UIM World Championship Series opens at Atlantic City, New Jersey (June 26-28), continues at the Great Lakes Grand Prix in Michigan City, Indiana (July 31 to August 2), then the Clearwater Offshore Nationals in Florida (September 25-27), and concludes at the 45th annual Key West Offshore World Championships (November 1-8). Key West counts as two championship rounds under the UIM structure, making it the title-deciding event for all three classes.

Each class champion will be recognised at the UIM Annual Awards Ceremony in Monaco.

XINSURANCE at Every Round

Its helicopter will fly at every stop of the series, delivering live aerial coverage to the RWO livestream on Facebook and YouTube and on the XINSURANCE Sports YouTube channel.

Larry Bleil, president of Race World Offshore:

Bringing XINSURANCE aboard in the inaugural year of our UIM agreement is a milestone for this series. For the first time ever, three classes will race for designated UIM world championships, with each champion honoured at the UIM Annual Awards Ceremony in Monaco. To have a partner like XINSURANCE help carry that banner from the season opener all the way to the finale here in Key West means a great deal to our drivers, owners and crews.

Rick J. Lindsey, president and CEO of XINSURANCE:

XINSURANCE has been proud to support offshore racing and the athletes who push this sport forward, and we’re excited to broaden that commitment this season. Lending our name to the XINSURANCE UIM World Championship Series and serving as a presenting sponsor of the Key West Offshore World Championships, alongside RWO and the UIM, is a natural next step for us.

The Wider Picture

US offshore racing currently operates under three parallel structures. RWO’s ten-year licensing agreement with the UIM, signed in March 2026, carries official international world championship recognition, with the APBA – the UIM’s recognised national authority in the United States since 1903 – sanctioning events alongside RWO. IHRA runs a separate national championship with significant prize money. The Offshore Powerboat Association runs its own independent calendar in the northeast, with the St. Clair River Classic in Michigan (July 24-26) and the Lake Hopatcong Grand Prix in New Jersey (September 18-20) both confirmed for 2026.
