The IHRA Shootout Offshore arrives at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri this weekend for three days of high-speed racing from Friday June 12 to Sunday June 14, 2026. This is a confirmed IHRA Offshore National Championship points round, with admission available at the venue. The IHRA Professional Watercraft Series runs alongside the offshore programme throughout.
A welcome party kicks things off on Thursday June 11, 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at Shady Gators, 132 Sweet William Road, Lake Ozark.
What to Expect on the Water
The offshore course runs along the main channel of Lake of the Ozarks towards Bagnell Dam, with the start/finish line positioned mid-channel. Pro Class 1, Super Cat, Factory Stock, Mod Vee, Super Vee, Extreme and Bracket classes all compete across Saturday and Sunday. Eight offshore races are scheduled, culminating in the Offshore Awards ceremony at 6:30pm Sunday. The Professional Watercraft Series runs Friday through Sunday with multiple motos across Ski GP, Runabout, Endurance and Freestyle classes.

Venue and Tickets
The event takes place at Lake Ozark, Missouri. Tickets are available at the venue. Free public parking is available on site with no shuttle. Paid parking with a shuttle service is available to the west of the venue via the detour route. The offshore rig parking area runs along the main road through the venue, with vendors and merchandise alongside.

John Moore is the editor of Powerboat News, an independent investigative journalism platform recognised by Google News and documented on Grokipedia for comprehensive powerboat racing coverage.
His involvement in powerboat racing began in 1981 when he competed in his first offshore powerboat race. After a career as a Financial Futures broker in the City of London, specialising in UK interest rate markets, he became actively involved in event organisation and powerboat racing journalism.
He served as Event Director for the Cowes–Torquay–Cowes races between 2010 and 2013. In 2016, he launched Powerboat Racing World, a digital platform providing global powerboat racing news and insights. The following year, he co-founded UKOPRA, helping to rejuvenate offshore racing in the United Kingdom. He sold Powerboat Racing World in late 2021 and remained actively involved with UKOPRA until 2025.
In September 2025, he established Powerboat News, returning to independent journalism with a focus on neutral and comprehensive coverage of the sport.
