Adam Wrenkler Signs for Black Pharaoh Ahead of Normandie Endurance

Sweden’s Adam Wrenkler has joined the Black Pharaoh Team for the 2026 UIM F4 World Championship. The announcement comes days before Wrenkler lines up at this weekend’s 24 Heures Motonautiques de Normandie at Poses, where Powerboat News will be reporting from the Seine.

Wrenkler, the son of veteran offshore racers Thomas and Annika, won the UIM GT15 World Championship in Finland in 2017. He has since built a consistent record in formula circuit racing, finishing third in the 2025 UIM F4 World Championship at the decisive rounds on Lake Viverone last October.

Black Pharaoh are a Sudanese-backed team with direct title ambitions for 2026. In 2025 they ran Norwegian driver William Martinsen, who took two race wins and three of four pole positions across the season. A fuel pump failure while leading Round 3 handed the initiative to Latvia’s Nils Slakteris, who went on to take the championship. The team’s post-season position was unambiguous.

We are ready to fight in 2026.

Since then William Martinsen and Norwegian compatriot and sports director Frode Sundsdal have both departed ways with the team.

Wrenkler is at Poses this week. He shares Boat 38, run by Monsnauteam in a Molgaard hull, with fellow Swede Hilmer Wiberg and Belgian pair Benjamin Berti and Maverick Grolet.

Heat 1 of the 24 Heures runs from midday on Friday until midnight, with navigation lights required from 20:00 as racing continues after dark.

Powerboat News will be at the circuit for all three days.

Veteran photographer Chris Davies has come out of retirement for the occasion, hiring a flash gun to capture the night stages on Friday night.
