U-40 Bucket List Racing Returns to H1 Unlimited with Dylan Runne

The U-40 Bucket List Racing team is returning to H1 Unlimited competition for the 2026 season, with Dylan Runne confirmed as driver. The team, owned by Kelly and Sharon Stocklin, sat out the 2025 campaign but returns with a full commitment to the complete race calendar, including pre-season testing.

“We’re not coming back halfway. We’re coming back to compete fully. Every race, every lap. That’s what this team is about.” Kelly Stocklin

The U-40 hydroplane has already demonstrated its potential at the top level of the sport. At Guntersville, the boat recorded a lap exceeding 171 mph, a benchmark that continues to define expectations around the programme.

During the team’s time away from competition, the Stocklins used the period to rebuild, bringing in new team members and refining their programme with a focus on long-term performance. Further team announcements are expected before the end of May.

Dylan Runne

Runne is a third-generation racer who began competing at the age of nine and has accumulated nearly 25 years of experience across multiple disciplines. Originally from the East Coast and based in New Jersey, he is an 11-time national champion and made history in the Hydroplane Racing League by becoming the first driver to win three consecutive championships in three different classes. He also earned Driver of the Year honours in 2019.

He first competed in H1 Unlimited during the 2023 season. Since then, Runne has launched his own team in the Formula 1 Tunnel Boat series and recorded a race win in 2026, with fellow H1 driver Andrew Tate at the wheel.

“Dylan brings the attitude and the outlook on how to go racing that we believe in. His approach fits perfectly with what we want to build with this team, and we have full confidence in him behind the wheel.” Kelly and Sharon Stocklin

Runne is direct about his ambitions for the season ahead.

“Coming back to H1 Unlimited is a dream for me. There’s still a lot to learn at this level, but we’re racers, and with this team and this boat, we’re here to push, improve, and be in the fight for wins.” Dylan Runne

New race format

The team has also welcomed the new race format set to be introduced across the 2026 H1 Unlimited season, with particular enthusiasm for the revised start procedure.

“We believe the new race format will be great for the fans and for the teams. It brings more clarity, more consistency, and helps reduce the risk of incidents. That’s a win for everyone.” Kelly and Sharon Stocklin
