Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team Appoints Majed Al Mansoori as Assistant Technical Manager

The Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team has appointed Majed Al Mansoori to its technical staff as Assistant Technical Manager, bringing one of the organisation’s most experienced racing figures into a management role for the first time.

Al Mansoori, born in Abu Dhabi in 1981, began his competitive career in jet ski events in the late 1990s before graduating to powerboat racing in the early 2000s. His route to international competition was methodical: local UAE circuit events, Formula 2000, then F-4S, before he emerged on the global stage with Team Abu Dhabi in Class One offshore and the UIM XCAT World Championship.

A Career Spanning Four Disciplines

Al Mansoori made his Class One Offshore debut at the Norwegian Grand Prix in 2011, and claimed his first Class One podium at the Italian Grand Prix in 2012. That same year he competed in the UIM F1H2O World Championship for Team Abu Dhabi, racing the BaBa hull under boat number 6.

His longest and most consistent chapter came as throttle-man alongside Rashed Al Tayer in Team Abu Dhabi 5. The pairing raced together across XCAT, Class One, and UAE Class 3 over more than a decade of international competition. In the 2016 UIM XCAT World Series they scored 32 championship points, taking pole position in Race 1 at the Fujairah round. In 2022, Al Mansoori and Al Tayer won the XCAT season finale. In 2021, the pair were runners-up at the UIM World Endurance Championship in Augustow, Poland, racing as the Abu Dhabi 2 crew.

He also represented the UAE in the UIM Nations Cup, contributing race wins to Team UAE’s overall victories, and continued to race in UAE Class 3 offshore competition as recently as 2023.

The Appointment

The team described the move as part of a wider strategy to strengthen its technical and administrative structure with professionals who carry both national identity and direct competitive experience. Al Mansoori’s background spans circuit, offshore, endurance, and catamaran racing across multiple UIM-sanctioned disciplines over more than 25 years.

No details were given on the scope of his technical responsibilities or the specific championships his new role will cover.
