Rain and wind are forecast for the Road to Sharjah–Grand Prix of Sharjah this weekend, threatening to disrupt the championship finale in conditions never before seen at the UAE venue.
Weather forecasts show a 75 per cent chance of precipitation on Friday and Saturday with winds reaching 24 kilometres per hour, marking a dramatic departure from the perfect conditions that have characterised every previous edition of the Sharjah Grand Prix.
The forecast could not come at a more critical time, with Shaun Torrente holding a 14-point championship lead over Jonas Andersson heading into the finale.
Weather forecast
Current forecasts show:
Friday, December 19: Partly cloudy, temperatures 24-26°C
Saturday, December 20: Rain forecast, 75% precipitation probability, 22°C, winds 24 km/h
Sunday, December 21: Rain continuing, 21°C, similar wind conditions
Weather forecasts can change rapidly, and teams will monitor conditions closely as the weekend approaches. However, the current predictions suggest the 2025 championship finale could be decided in challenging conditions.
The Road to Sharjah–Grand Prix of Sharjah begins with free practice on Friday afternoon, with qualifying scheduled for Saturday morning at 09:30 local time.
