Get ready for a weekend of high-octane thrills as the 5th Annual Monster Energy St. Petersburg Powerboat P1 Grand Prix returns to the downtown waterfront and Pier District this weekend. Presented by Visit St. Pete-Clearwater, this event marks the final race of the Monster Energy P1 Offshore Triple Crown and the P1 AquaX National Championship series.
The action kicks off on Friday evening with a Pit Party at Albert Whitted Park from 6–10 pm. Families can enjoy food trucks, live music from Andy Velo, vendors, and an up-close look at the powerboats and jet ski teams.
Saturday and Sunday ramp up the excitement with over 50 raceboats reaching speeds of up to 160 mph and 30 AquaX jet ski riders battling it out for the checkered flag. Best of all, admission to the public is completely free for the entire weekend.
For those wanting a premium view, VIP tickets are available at the end of the St. Pete Pier, offering elevated seating directly opposite the Start/Finish Line, complimentary food and drinks, and a live stream of all the racing action.
Craig Campbell, Director of Community & Brand Engagement for Visit St. Pete-Clearwater, said:
The St. Pete-Clearwater destination is home to major sporting events throughout the year, and we are proud to host this year’s championship race. Visitors travel from near and far to experience the speed and thrill of the Grand Prix, all set against the backdrop of beautiful downtown St. Pete. The event continues to drive business to local retailers, hotels, and restaurants at America’s Favorite Beaches.
Fans can also catch a 60-minute live broadcast on Racer Network (formerly MAV TV), with full live streaming on Powerboat P1’s YouTube and Facebook pages. A post-produced docuseries will go behind the scenes, spotlighting select teams.
This year, net proceeds will benefit the P1 Marine Foundation, with donations presented to Tampa Bay Watch and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital during the Race Awards Ceremony on Sunday, 7 September, at 6:30 pm.
Following races in New Orleans and Sheboygan, St. Petersburg marks the final stop of the P1 Offshore series. Don’t miss your chance to witness speed, skill, and adrenaline in one unforgettable weekend.
