Cottingham & Talbot Dominate 2025 Bermuda Round The Island Race
Final results were posted last night by the Bermuda Power Boat Association for this year’s RUBiS Around The Island Powerboat Race, revealing a stunning performance by Andrew Cottingham and Henry Talbot III in D007. The duo posted the fastest overall time of 40:25.
The annual race, challenges competitors to navigate the demanding 54-mile circuit around the island. Starting and finishing at Ferry Reach, navigating through Two Rock Passage and around Five Star Island and Daniels Head.
This year’s event was postponed from its original date due to inclement weather, eventually running on August 31st with four classes launching in staggered intervals. Cottingham and Talbot were first to the oil docks and first into the pylons, setting a blistering pace that no other boat could match across the grueling course.
The Marshall brothers continued their 2025 dominance, with Chris and Jacari taking A Class honors in 57:55 after sweeping earlier Ferry Reach events this season. Steven Miereles and Aaron Daniel claimed B Class victory in 48:45, while Chad Sutherland and Lee Wilson had C Class to themselves with a competitive 47:17.

Race Highlights
B Class saw significant drama with five DNFs and two disqualifications, including regular competitors David Willoughby/Kelsey Durham who had dominated earlier Ferry Reach events this season.
The Cottingham/Talbot victory marks a breakthrough performance for the D Class pairing, posting a time that would have won overall regardless of start time differential.
